Comparable store sales flat at Children`s Place

The Children`s Place Retail Stores Inc announced sales of $145.1 million for the four-week period ended August 30, 2008, a 3% increase compared to sales of $140.4 million for the four-week period ended September 1, 2007. Comparable store sales were flat compared to a 4% increase last year. During August 2008, the Company opened six stores. The Children`s Place Retail Stores Inc is a leading specialty retailer of children`s merchandise. The Company designs, contracts to manufacture and sells high-quality, value-priced merchandise under the proprietary "The Children`s Place" brand name. As of August 30, 2008, the Company owned and operated 908 The Children`s Place stores and its online store.
